What this does not claim

No document determines what a life is for. These fifteen lines are the best-supported single commitment in each domain, not a ranking of what matters and not a complete account of any of them — each is the opening principle of a full Declaration carrying its own evidence base and its own exclusions. And nothing here is signed on anybody's behalf but your own: a covenant is a commitment made to yourself, revisable by you, and it is not a test that can be failed. The honest claim is narrower: each principle above is drawn from published evidence, each is stated at the strength that evidence supports, and every one of them names something most people have never been told.
